Parent Engagement

Our Parent Engagement team are here for both you and your child. They are here to help develop the contacts and links between school and home. Our team are experts in setting up interventions, therapies and opportunities for involvement with external agencies.

What We Do.

  • Offer advice / information, or signposting to others who may be able to help.
  • Provide explanations about the curriculum, school policies and/or practices.
  • Arrange social events to enable you to meet other parents / carers.
  • Establish links with local community groups.

Meet the Team

Fiona Sherman

I am the main contact for parents/carers with children in Primary through to Year 11. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge in SEND. I am based in the Pupil Support Centre. I work closely with a variety of different therapists and external agencies to ensure the very best support for you and your child.

Jo Chalder-Wood (Director of Wellbeing and Mental Health)

I lead on all aspects of wellbeing and mental health across all school sites, including our medical provision. My role includes supporting students and their families and carers, working with outside agencies and leading our teams of therapists in school. I represent the school on the Parent and Carer Committee and organise parent engagement sessions in school.

Sue Wilkinson (Wellbeing TA)

I provide wellbeing support to our young people in school through 1:1 and small group interventions. I work closely with staff and parents to deliver the best outcomes for our young people encouraging their creativity and individuality. I attend the parent and carer committee and organise alongside Jo, the parent engagement sessions in school. I work across all sites to support our pupils, families and staff.

Lesley Scott (Medical HLTA)

I work alongside Jo regarding medicines and our medical provision in school. I organise the day to day running of the first aid and medicine team and liaise with parents regarding medical queries and the needs of our pupils. I am also part of the wellbeing support for our pupils in the Wellbeing Room based at Collingwood and visit all sites regularly to support pupils, parents and staff.
