Signpost Productions
Signpost Productions is an award-winning production company based in the North East of England. It is a production house like no other, with diversity in its DNA.
Every commission comes with a commitment that the production crew will be as diverse as possible. Signpost Productions is a production unit that is part of ITV, the UK’s biggest commercial broadcaster, and produces more than 1,500 hours of content every year for broadcasters, businesses, commercial brands and digital channels.
Our Sixth Form, based at Fuse Media Centre in Prudhoe, are working with Signpost as part of an exciting partnership between Signpost and Collingwood School and Media Arts College.
The students that are involved with Signpost Productions are focussed on gaining a functional understanding of how a working studio is run as well as what it’s like to be a part of the wider media industry.
And did you know that, in the world of Broadcast Media, Christmas begins in June? Our students are up to speed with that!
As we continue this partnership the students will build their knowledge base and be several steps further towards their potential futures in the media arts.
While the students are working with Signpost they are expanding on their existing experience, gained from working in the video and sound studios here at Collingwood.
On a recent visit to our own video studio at Collingwood, the picture here shows (left to right) Deputy Head Susan Major, Signpost Head of Partnerships and Development, Claire Wilson, Signpost Managing Director Kenny Toal, Head Teacher Gillian Linkleter and Collingwood Media Technician Brandon Gee.
In addition, the partnership allows for a clear progression route for the future, developing skills and knowledge to enable a career pathway within the Media Industry.”
